CMC DAICEL
Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose

Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose

CMC DAICEL is a water-soluble polymer made from cellulose, a natural material, and developed using Daicel’s proprietary technology.

It contributes to enriching people’s lives through its applications in food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, electronic materials, and more, and it is of reliable quality.

CMC DAICEL

[ Characteristics ]
· One of the most widely distributed water-soluble polymers, it is derived from cellulose.
· There are various grades depending on viscosity (due to molecular weight) and degree of substitution (DS).
· CMC dissolves in water to form a colorless, transparent, viscous solution. It is used in many applications, including as a thickening agent, emulsifying stabilizer, suspending agent, and binder.
· It reacts with multivalent metal ions, such as Al³⁺, to form a uniform gel.

[ Applications ]
Food (lactic acid bacteria beverages, noodles),
Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics (pastes, toothpaste),
Batteries, Electrical materials (lithium-ion batteries),
Civil engineering (stabilizing agents for foundation work),
Ceramics (automotive catalysts) etc.

The grades of CMC DAICEL are mainly determined by the viscosity of the 1% aqueous solution and the degree of substitution, which indicates the strength of the CMC structure. We offer a variety of grades with different viscosities so you can select the most suitable one for your application. Please contact us for more details.
